Oil is to the 19th and 20th Century what Lithium batteries are to the 21st Century in the context of energy storage. Consider the difference between accessing a sludge deep underground, pumping it to the surface, transporting it to a refinery - via pipeline, rail, or ocean going tankers, refining the sludge to a useable product, transporting this to a distributor and then burning it for electricity or transportation. Alternatively, we can convert sunlight directly into electricity and store it in a battery. We are on the verge of a major change in the way we capture, store and deliver energy. When the Tesla Giga factory comes online early next year, lithium batteries in our homes and cars will change the infra-structure of the petroleum and electrical distribution that we are so accustomed. Lithium batteries because of their charge density to weight are found in all our mobile devices and they lead the revolution.
Our mobile phones and tablets need to be charged regularly, therefore, having a charging station in your home or business is organizing and convenient.
